So many years, studying the Bible
the words of scripture -
what meaning they hold;
Reading in measured
prescribed passages
following the Lectionary –
Years A, B, C
Starting at the beginning
Genesis, the foundation,
to read the whole Bible;
one month in,
what mysteries remain
as I read day by day.
Reading serially,
ordered differently,
starting at the beginning
Genesis, the patriarchs;
Heading to the end,
to the Revelations.
Outside the Lectionary
reading completely
the detailed stories;
The Laws, the Precepts,
the complete living
Word of God in my hands
