just doing our part

the task that is before us
our calling from God
just doing our part
the work its own reward
staying committed
to the work God gave us
standing in the storm
working in the fields

Children’s message – mystery box
-          green maple leaf and a colored maple leaf
-          the green color of the leaves is not the true color
-          this is the color we have when we are being fed
-          nurtured in the spring and summer with the Word;
-          we shine our true colors in autumn
-          sharing our true color with God and the world
-          staying close to God
-          each an individual
-          shining the colors of Christ

a legacy uncertain

we do not know, we cannot
what fruit our work will bear
what there will become
what are legacy will be
of our time in the fields
in the vineyard, in our calling
from God, from Christ

we must keep working
faithful, in the vineyard, in the fields
with a legacy uncertain, unknown
revealed far in the future
in a time of God’s reckoning
like the legacy of Abraham
the father of our faith
