why do you allow the pain – v4

Why don’t You cut off the disease
Why do You allow the pain,
in ourselves, in our loved ones,
the hurt to continue;
Do You hear me, Lord,
when they attack
when the leaders do not help us,
when our protectors are silent
seemingly indifferent, uncaring;
Those who are blind to the hurt
what they have gotten away with,
still earning a paycheck
with no other consequence?
Why don’t You exact judgment;
Don’t You hear us, oh God?

gasping for air – v3

out of breath, tired
worn out from struggle
trying to be faithful
but hearing the earth’s song
the memory of my past
a legacy behind me
stalking my days
in pain, struggling
gasping for air
for the breath I need.

Drowning in my own thoughts – v3

I am frozen, paralyzed
not knowing where to turn
staring at the demons
awake in my dreams, shouting;
I am drowning in my own thoughts.
Lord, do you see me?
I am drowning, I am frozen;
I am standing on sinking sand.

Lord, reach down,
I beseech Thee;
Lord, lift me, hold me
place me on dry land.
I am parched, I am broken,
I am drowning in my own thoughts.
Heal me, mend me,
put me to Your work.

Proof of my pain
utter despair
bruised heart
scarred wrists;
Cuts so deep
nowhere to turn, to run;
Do you hear me, Lord,
my cries in the night;
I am lost without You
I need Your love

everything we really need – v2

Within God only we find
everything we really need
a culture of provision
our hope forevermore.
Living in a place of certainty
we are sure of God’s provision
we are at peace within our person
trusting in God only.

don’t let go – v2

I say to myself
I repeat it often,
“don’t let go, hold on,
hold onto Jesus”;
Don’t give up on me, Lord
I want to follow.
Help me to change,
to cast fear from me
to boldly go with You
on the Way.

silent, still – v2

when we are silent, still
we are open to God
to His calling to us
Not speaking, acting
being still, quiet,
sitting in God’s presence

we must be present ourselves
open to God, ready,
to receive His message
His blessing upon us
showing us the path
God’s plan for our lives.

Christ-shaped lives

Christ-shaped lives
God-shaped choices
a Spirit-led journey
here upon the earth
needing God in all dimensions
to walk the way of Christ
Christ-shaped hearts
God-shaped mercy
a Spirit-filled love
for one another
so should be our walk
our earthly journey
until we reach our home
in heaven above

we want to be brave

we want to be brave
to claim Christ’s power
His name to change
to heal our lives
but we are timid
we shrink from the challenge
we let the wind, the world

everything we really need

within God only
everything we really need
a culture of provision
hope forevermore
living in a place of certainty
sure of God’s provision
at peace within our person
trusting only in God.
