An inner sense of calm – v2

An inner sense of calm, of purpose,
focus within the maelstrom, the storm,
chaos raging around us, the life, trials,
we are called to, to strive for, to live into,
in this time, in our journey, this moment,
all pouring out, all held gently, waiting,
our path, within the loving hands of God…
 
An inner sense of calling, of purpose,
within our grasp, our reach, if we can center,
if we can focus on the divine, the Spirit, calling,
wooing us, pursuing us, for our commission,
our mission, our center, our authentic voice,
within the maelstrom, the storms swirling,
grounded in the water, eternal life…

God’s prayer longing to be heard

God is with us, within us, beside us,
calling to us, if we will but listen,
if we will still ourselves in the storms,
if we will but seek to grasp the intangible,
His clear message waiting to be heard,
to be understood, within our spirits, our hearts…
 
God’s prayer for us, His protection, His promise,
waiting for us to see, to feel with our hearts,
a gift, a blessing, rich in abundance, offering,
our place, our calling, our purpose,
within the kingdom of God, His mission,
to redeem us, to save the whole world…

Grasping clouds from the ether – v2

The whispers of God,
His messages to us, for us,
captured in the noise, the voices,
the prattling chorus, striving,
to catch our thoughts, our attention,
to keep us from hearing, truth,
God’s murmur, His whisper,
His calling, His purpose,
our hope, our joy in this life…
 
Grasping clouds from the ether,
in our mortal hands, our clay,
the heavens, the sky, a cacophony,
holding onto the whispers, the call,
from our Creator, our Savior, our God,
blocking out the noise, the sirens,
of the world swirling around us,
feeling God’s presence, His Spirit,
calling, whispering to us now…
 
Stilling ourselves within the storms,
the chaos, the maelstrom, our trials,
grounded, centered, in God’s living word,
the promise of God, through Christ, our Savior,
wooing us from the edge, the brink,
the calling of the flesh, the world,
to steal our focus, our resolve, our yearning,
to be God’s faithful servants, to offer ourselves,
to be Christ’s hands and feet, today, right now…

On the cusp of epiphany

Walking, certain of Your presence,
Trying to hear Your whispers,
Your Spirit calling to my heart,
What I am to do to thrive,
To be faithful within the chaos,
To know abundance in this life…
 
At times I have felt You, but I couldn’t hear You,
On the cusp of epiphany, Oh Lord, draw near,
I want to know You, catching clouds from the ether,
Your words from the blue of the sky, meaning,
As a servant listens to their Master, attentive,
I am starting to hear Your message, clearly…

With my hands of clay, my distracted mind,
I hear You calling to me, whispering,
Hope in the chaos, focus in the maelstrom,
Gifting me words of purpose, of love,
Of a sense of calling, a passion, ignited,
Fed with Your wooing, pursuing, present,
Here with me now, typing, sharing,
Alive in this moment, this present,
Anxiously hopeful, for Your purpose,
Your calling, to be revealed each day…

Are we seeing angels - v2

Do we see angels
spirits descending, dancing,
in the whisper of clouds
is God so close, so present,
as real as believe, truth,
is heaven as close as breath…
 
The Spirit choreographs,
in motion, in music, eternal,
leading a heavenly chorus,
whispers riding, lifted
on the clouds, falling,
rising, kissing the sky…
 
Are we seeing angels
In the dome above us,
across the heavens,
the dance alive,
spirits singing to us,
singing praises unto God…

Do we see angels in the whisper of clouds
is God so close, so present, heaven as close as breath,
do we hear the Spirit leading a heavenly chorus, in whispers
riding on the clouds, falling, rising, kissing the sky,
the dome above us, the heavens, the dance alive,
spirits singing to us, singing praises unto God…

We must prepare for battle – v2

The world cries out in anguish,
in pain of the struggle, the war,
raging, ignited, burning,
costing far too many lives…
 
We must prepare for battle,
for the Enemy is present,
war rages around us, ablaze,
in the physical, the spiritual realms…
 
Put on the full armor of God,
be prepared for the onslaught,
for the attacks of the enemy,
in the darkness of that night…
 
We must prepare for battle,
lies, siren calls, for agents of Satan,
seeking to destroy us, to pull us,
from the love of God, our Savior…
 
The world cries out in anguish,
generation upon generation, unending,
stuck in the cycle of violence, of trauma,
in the physical, the spiritual realms…
 
Put on the full armor of God,
for the war all around us,
we must be in the vanguard, the gap,
when it is our time to stand on watch…

Raging, ignited, burning,

We must prepare for battle,

We are protected

We have a Good Shepherd,
A God who loves us,
We are protected,
In every step of life…
 
The Lord is our Shepherd,
Our one source of strength,
Our Creator, our Savior,
The Spirit beside us each day…
 
We have a Good Shepherd,
An answer to daily prayer,
He is our hope and protection,
With each step, each breath…
 
The Lord is our Shepherd,
Our one hope in this life,
The assurance of heaven,
At the end of our path, this way…

“The Lord is my Shepherd”,

Words of comfort, of life,

Protection in this life,

And a hope for the life to come…

 

“The Lord is my Shepherd”,

The Good Shepherd, love,

Life in its fullness now,

And in heaven above…

 

“The Lord is my Shepherd”,

A truth and a promise,

Guiding us in this world,

Guiding us to home…
