petals of powder

sealed in the blossom
as if held in place
petals of powder
clung round the center
unfurling with the warming
the light of the sun
Opening wider
feeling the rays
the pure white petals
alive, on display

Something perfect

Something perfect
pure and holy
in the intricate pattern
in the delicate fabric
the petals supple
bending in the breezes
yet appearing to be made
of confectioner’s sugar
powdery petals
of God’s endless love
