when Jesus said follow – v3

I can hear the rumble
the moving shock waves
the import of his calling
the words hanging in the air
to the first disciples.

When Jesus said follow
He didn’t mean Twitter
and Instagram account
a Facebook presence
a Fake Jesus profile.

God wants our whole hearts
our focus, our center;
when Jesus said follow,
for us to be disciples,
He meant it for life.

sown to the internet

sown to the internet
seeds of God’s message
purposely posted
shared widely
scattered to the winds
across the ether
blogs, social media

ripples growing wider
for other shores, countries
the words I have been gifted
by God’s Spirit, I believe,
stones thrown into the world
seeds cast to the winds
scattered across the ether

The internet down

The internet down
no bars on the cell phone
Wifi not working
at moments, seconds
this may be God calling,
“step away from the box,
spend time with me.”
I hear myself answering,
“Yes Lord, I get it.”
I set down the mouse
and enter the word.

sharing with them – v2

all of my witness
honest, raw
with real emotion
out there, present,
sharing with them
my path, my faith
the blessings of grace.
the words I have been gifted
seeds scattered
stones cast into the waters;
hoping they will
see Christ Jesus
in my words
and in my walk.

over the ether

over the ether, the wires
across the miles
connecting with others
the seeds we scatter
iron sharpening iron
learning more deeply
from conversation
about Jesus, about God,
snippets of eternal truth
growing stronger
across the miles
a closer walk with Christ.

The song of the prayer circle – v3

Lifted up to God
on Facebook, on Twitter
in quiet rooms, prayer closets,
the song of the prayer circle
all believers, praying as one
all who are praying
for the same person
for the same struggle
a chorus rising
up from the earth
on Facebook, on Twitter
in quiet rooms, in prayer closets
singing as one voice
offering up this one prayer
to You, oh God.
