once we were perfect - v3

once we were perfect,
innocent of sin;
we walked with God
in the cool of the evening.
 
then sin entered,
the fruit, the snake;
Adam and Eve were
cast out of the Garden.
 
but God was cast out
of all of creation;
our sin too great a barrier
to our continued communion.
 
God, the Father,
only in heaven;
the breach healed
by Christ, our Savior.

God is not here

God is not here
on earth but in heaven;
God no longer walks with man
in the cool of the evening.
 
In a sense it was God
who was cast out of the Garden;
God no longer rests His feet
on fertile ground.

We are given #dominion over the #Garden = v2

We are given dominion over the Garden,
over the forces of evil, over creation;
Dominion is restored to us by Jesus
our risen Savior and Lord.
 
We are joined by guardians of the Garden
sentinels of heaven, angels among us,
watching over us, protecting our lives.
 
We have power over life and death,
over healing, over restoration;
We are to lead others to Jesus,
the risen second Adam.
 
Guardian angles may be hidden from us
but they are there in times of struggle
protecting our hearts, our lives.
 
We are placed once more in the Garden
to point others to Christ Jesus;
We are to offer a healing touch
to defeat the forces of evil.

We are given dominion over the Garden

We are given dominion over the Garden,
over the forces of evil, over creation;
Dominion is restored to us by Jesus
our risen Savior and Lord.
 
We have power over life and death,
over healing, restoration;
We are to lead others to Jesus,
the risen second Adam.
 
We are placed once more in the Garden
to point others to Christ Jesus;
We are to gift a healing touch
to defeat the forces of evil.

Dominion over the Garden

Dominion over the Garden,
over the forces of evil,
restored to us by Jesus
our risen Savior and Lord.
 
Power over life and death
over healing, restoration,
leading others to Jesus,
the risen second Adam.
 
Placed once more in the Garden
pointing others to Christ Jesus,
gifting a healing touch
to defeat the forces of evil.

Parse the group

Gauge the crowd

What they want to hear

How’s it going?

Thanks for the opportunity

To share, to speak

To be real, authentic

Shouldn’t listeners have to wear name tags

Expose a bit of soul too

Like those of us sharing

Under the hot lights…

Aren’t they though,

If you pay attention

to the fidget and the clap

Subtle and not so oblique silences
