Death, like any other man – v3

Christ dying, in pain,
death, like any other man
yet not the end
not the end of the story

Rising, in victory,
the cross, the grave
would not hold Him
our Savior, our God

Rising, in victory,
the empty tomb
giving us our freedom
freed from the grave

Was it a Week – v5

Was it a week
or more like a million;
We miss the point, in arguing,
It was God who created

God created
the theories conflicting;
How long it took, and
is the universe still in motion

Was it a week
or was it a million;
Does it really matter,
because God created.

I Look to the Mountain – v2

I look to the Mountain
whether north or southbound;
It is proof of the promise
that God’s grace abounds

I look to the Mountain
that changes moment to moment;
But it is the same, unchanging,
constant, in every season

I know God is with me
each step on the journey;
I look to the Mountain
whether north or southbound

God claiming the new-born Son – v3

The boy was now a man
the Son of God with us
rising up from the river;
Washed in the Jordan
baptized by John, His cousin
beginning His ministry

God claiming the new-born Son
birthed from the waters
at the start of His ministry;
Christ was born to save us
to set God’s people free

in swaths of color – v3

not bolts of fabric
but in wide swaths of color
the words of the story;
The Word of Love
written for us by God

in living colors, in light
in virtues, in mercy
in being filled by the Spirit;
God’s love within
calling us to do our part

in wide swaths of color
in words of grace before us
our lives are in God’s hand;
We are held by our Creator,
in God’s love do we stand
