Hidden in the house apart
not venturing far from home
the disciples waiting
expectantly
just as the Master told them
in that upper room
Timid, though they knew the Word
the reason that He had come
They were silent, hiding
not yet preaching the Word
waiting for the Helper to
come
Their clay on Pentecost
fired in the kiln of those
flames
the tongues of fire
descending
hardened, these men with
feet of clay
to walk as Disciples of
Christ
They went out into the world
baptized from above
the Spirit moving with them
sent out into the world
to sow the seeds of Love
