At the Last Moment

The blessings of grace
not something earned
paid when we believe
entering, coming before the lord

Only by faith
even at the last moment
equal in God’s sight
we are all children to him

Whether the first
or the last to believe
each of us given
the grace from above
each of us walking
the streets paved with God

Into the Light

Stopping in his tracks
on the Damascus Road
stepping into the light
never the same again

Changed by the word of God
understanding his folly
the error of his ways
spoken by the living Christ

Transformed on that day
undoing his error
spreading the love of God
all the rest of his life

Turned Around

On that dusty road
wrong-headed, yet driven
brought to his knees, blinded,
standing in the light

Turned around completely
his life’s work reversed
transformed by Christ
hearing his heavenly voice

Becoming a zealot of the way
bringing the world to Christ
changed in an instant
coming into the light
