use these blessings

use these blessings
the gifts you have been given
use them for God
the work of the Kingdom
use them well
these gifts you were given
all to the glory
of our Lord
not to be hidden
not for ourselves
all to be used
to increase the harvest
more souls given
unto the Lord

how can my trash – v2

how can my trash
the seeds I scatter
be useful, oh Lord
my cast offs, rough drafts
in them reward

can someone be blessed
with words on the page
the notes, the thoughts
I have discarded
that I have thrown away

Trash in the Temple – v2

Cries in heaven
for wayward people
the connected pieces
all part of us

Trash in the Temple,
Body of Christ,
following their own hearts
not the power of love

Christ is of God

A proud statement
a testament to each believer
that we are connected
entwined with Christ
That Christ is of God
submitting his life
a life given
that we all may live
healed of our brokenness
fully restored
changed completely
life evermore

You are of Christ

Tied with the Savior
yoked to the cross
our love self-evident
changing our path

Paul proclaimed
you are of Christ
entwined in the vine
made one with God

Imitate Me

The prayer of their pastor
to the people
to follow his path
to imitate Paul
in the way of the cross
Imitate me
he pled with the people
in his letter to Corinth
to the new believers
to follow his way
yoked to the cross
staying true to the path
so they would be righteous
that they would not be lost

Holy Ground – 2

Our hearts filled
our bodies the temple
together the church
all part of one body

Healed by the Christ
the Savior before us
guided by His Spirit
speaking now to us

The body, the church
a holy temple
holy ground only
when we are good soil

Only together,
many together
all of us together
together as one

Only when we follow

Our lives conformed
able to where his mantle
to be the church,
together the temple

Only when we follow
the way of the cross
only when we are disciples
are we redeemed from the lost

Together One Body - 2

The plural You
the words of the apostle
describing us together
together one body
the temple, the church
Not separate beings
together, united
in one mind and spirit
followers of Christ

Stewards of God’s Mysteries

We are to be the stewards of God’s mysteries
the ones to safeguard his secrets, the majesty of creation
the wonder of the world, the unwrapping of the
web of life, the systems, the laws of nature
all part of the ordered plan of the creator
A world of rules and wondrous beauty
in the forces, the atoms, the mystery of life
Eating of the tree, the knowledge and free will
to act to save, to protect, or to destroy
all within our hands, to choose
So we must be the stewards, the protectors
of this world, this earth, fighting
for its preservation, and the innocents
who are yet to come
They too are the children of God
our legacy must not be wasting their birthright
We must be stewards of God’s mysteries
as his sons and daughters
not frittering away the inheritance of all
