Memory is a fiction – v14

What we believe we know
we are absolutely certain
our history, the moments
the events of our lives
but it is a lie we tell ourselves
for memory is a fiction
a creation of the now
We recast our memories
our history to our purpose
how we feel now, this moment
reshaping the fabric of our past
into a whole new creation
for memory is a fiction
an edifice of the now

Mile Marker 19 – v7

I drove by the spot again
That fateful piece of highway
Today, this afternoon.
Where you lost control,
Where fate found you
Tired, and unprepared
For eternity to call you.

What went through your mind
That night in winter,
That split second of time?
Was it anger, surprise, fear
Or were you asleep,
Unaware that the ice
Held your destiny?

Did you try to steer
To navigate on the pavement?
Did the wheel respond on the ice
Or was that the spell on you
A curse in the night
For being there at all
On that holiday for lovers?

He will bring justice to the world

He will bring justice to the world
or each one of us, acting as God’s servants
God’s agents in this life,
a message to the world
God will balance the scales
or we will in this time
seeking justice for the least
compassion to the lost
loving all whom we meet
God’s agents in this life,
a message to the world
