Memory is a fiction – v11

What we believe we know
seemingly static, eternal
Certain in our bones
the chapter and verse
Our history, the moments
as if an image, frozen
permanent in time

Yet memory is a fiction
a creation of the now
We recast our memories
Photoshop the images
history to our purpose
How we feel now, this moment
reshaping the fabric of our past
