Not like the rich man
his wealth not the issue
not his treasure, his possessions
that created his distance from God
Pride in his piety, certain
his holiness itself, the wall
leading him to question the Creator
the justice of God
God’s response, righteous
the human before him
a perspective made clear
that was far beyond him
Our place in the order
God’s plan for the universe
by reverence, repentance alone
made right before God
