Sitting down with evil
giving lies a stage
complicit in their propaganda
giving voice to their rage
The opiate of a perception
a mandate to cover news
but letting the leaders
command the stage, our views
A platform for their deceptions
covering the cruel facts
Their oppression of their people
willing to kill the innocents
for another day in power
Deny them this vehicle
let them rant from the balcony
the madmen, dictators
should not control the media
Independence should be the watchword
not trying to catch them in lies
in respectfully waiting for them to speak
in a place of their choosing
Cover the reality in the street
or refuse to broadcast their lies

The ghosts of the protests
those yearning for freedom
those who stood up after prayers
going into the streets
stealing them in the night
removed from their own homes
in terror and fright
The purge of the protest
silent, in the night
The world standing in silence
complicit in the slaughter

Live Generously
God set us free
in the arms of grace
given a spirit of forgiveness
warm in God’s embrace
We must live generously
offering love to all
bearing witness for our Savior
answering our shepherd’s call
Living as he lived
offering ourselves for them
changed forever in that instant
when we come to know the Lord
There since before we were born
right there by our side
found when we have eyes to see
when we discern his loving call
Living as a light to the world
staying salt of the earth
living generously that others may live
sharing the join we must not hide

Floodgates of love
bearing us up
on the wings of the dove
Christ gives a way
to give us life
refined by his fire
that we may burn bright
Love come down
God made man
sending us forth
to do all that we can
Modeling love
forgiveness, healing us
your grace alone
in the way of the cross

On the Cross of Calvary
Only to the cross
our eyes set on Christ
bearing our shame
taking our sin from us
through we are unworthy
becoming the sacrifice
On the cross of Calvary
a witness to God’s love
submitting to his will
dying in our place
Forgiving us
while we were God’s enemy
an example of God’s grace
giving us our victory
The lessons of his life
how he chose to die
redeeming our brokenness
in his light we fly

Our common clay
needing to see
to touch the side of Christ
to be free
God’s love on display
in the coming of the Christ
in his going to the cross
and his rising from the dead
An abject lesson
the proof of his love
shining in the darkness
if would open our eyes
God’s light shining
whiter than white
transformed forever
in the brilliance of your sight

Genuine Love
For the whole world
living in love
infused with God’s grace
the landing of the dove
Transformed on the mountain
transfigured by God’s power
changed forever
becoming the worthy sacrifice
The unblemished lamb
whiter than white
drenched by our stain
the burden of our sin
Genuine love alive
modeled in Christ
making the whole world worthy
by his blood on the cross
