Their only focus, Jesus,
to a life together in Christ,
holding everything in common,
sharing His message, His life…

Committed to the work,
sharing the Gospel, Christ,
bound together in worship,
faithful in their walk…

Their only focus, Jesus,
to save other souls,
offering light, salvation,
to a fallen world…

awakening into promise,
lives changed forever,
becoming followers of Christ…

Their number increased,
hearing the Gospel message,
lives were transformed,
becoming as one…

Sharing their lives, together,
one people, one body,
one hope in Christ Jesus,
the Perfecter of our faith…

Their number increased,
sharing the Good News,
one purpose, one calling,
imprinted on our hearts…

focused on worship, on Jesus Christ,
a moment of origin, of awakening,
being together, gathered, sharing,
one loaf, one body, sharing,
from that one cup, life,
the first community of believers,
gathered together, united,
sharing a life in Christ…

You are not your own – v2

When we are called,
when we accept,
when we fall to our knees,
coming to the feet of Christ…

We are changed, restored,
we are brought back from the dead.
we are bought with a price,
we are no longer our own…

Christ has claimed us,
Christ has redeemed us, restored us,
for God’s holy purpose,
we are revived, reborn…

We are slaves of a new Master
sheep of his flock, disciples,
we are sent to the world
as a message of God…

Making Our Tents – v6

Out in the world,
in our work, in our living,
witnessing now, to them,
to all those we meet…

While making our tents,
preaching the Word,
sharing the love of Jesus,
until all have heard…

Starting with our neighbors
then out into the world,
in our work, our lives,
our living, day to day…

Faithful, committed,
to our Master’s teaching,
common people sharing,
God’s love for all of us…

Witnessing fully,
in our work, our living,
sharing eternity,
with all we do…

While making our tents,
preaching the Word,
sharing the love of Jesus,
until all have heard…

Ministry in our work

I am better than I deserve – v4

Too often we don’t really mean it,
it is an off-handed question, casually offered,
not really seeking an answer from another,
our greeting to a friend, a stranger, how we interact,
asking, obliquely, “How are you, today?”

But, oh, truly, these are those moments,
when Christ calls us to witness, to stop,
to share our truth, our faith, our story,
as we sojourn, as we walk in this life…

When I am mindful, when I slow down,
sometimes I will answer, cautiously,
if I feel they might be receptive, open,
“I am better than I deserve…”,
when I witness to this fact…

“I have sinned against You oh God,
my shame is self-evident, it is written on me,
I deserve damnation, but I receive salvation,
through the blood of Jesus Christ!”

“I deserve death, the cross, my sin convicts me,
but for the blood of Jesus, the Lamb, our sacrifice,
He bore my debt, my stain, the judgement,
He paid the price I couldn’t pay, humbly, freely;
I am saved by love, by grace, only in Jesus’ name.”
