Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh – v10

The life of Jesus, the fulfillment of scripture, the prophecy of old

His life, His ministry, His burial in the tomb

woven into the gifts, the three offerings, the wise men

the gold, frankincense, and myrrh they brought him to Jesus

The king, the priest, the martyr on the cross

living humbly, teaching another way, dying for our sins

The Word, the Living Water, the Risen Lord

shoot of Jesse, carpenter’s son, God Incarnate

at the beginning, Emmanuel, the judge at His return

The Bread, the Lamb, the Way

To Him, for Him, for us all throughout time

was given the gold, the frankincense, and myrrh

by the wise men, traveling from the east, to His humble bed

A Message for the World – v6

Lord, each time I pause, when I am purposeful

I offer a whisper, a prayer from my heart

as I enter into the Bible, Your Word;

Praying, hoping, to hear a message,

a prayer, a message for the world.

Oh, Lord, I pray Your would give me

words to share, that I would listen,

hearing Your words to me

the musings in my heart;

Praying for Your guidance,

the Spirit to impart.

I pray You would give me

a message for the world

something of God’s love;

Hoping I will be open, ready,

for Your messages from above.

To Share God’s Word

In epiphany, in journeying

coming to see my calling

how to use my gifts for God

To share God’s Word

in the verses that I write

Stepping out, in faith

trusting the callings of my heart

to do God’s will;

Cleaving to my Master

in doing the Savior’s work

Sharing the message

bringing God’s light,

of Love come down to earth;

Through our discipleship

we are given new life

Guided by the Spirit

believing in the unseen

led into the unknown;

Strengthened by the hand of Christ

that is marked by the nails, my sin

Going as I am called

writing the words I am gifted

to share, to be God’s witness;

Putting pen to page

to share God’s loving Word
