Within the protection of God;
I stand on His holy promises,
Why should I live in fear?

That Christ’s sacrifice saves us…

The dead cry out

The words each of them lift up,
A nation crying out, whispering,
Shouting, for freedom, for justice,
The dead cry out, through them,
To untie their hands, to give them
Permission, authority to crush evil,
To defend themselves, their native land…
 
Nothing more than what we would do, have done,
If our land was attacked, if we faced such terror,
The dead cry out, for us to hear them, to listen,
To let their people strike back against genocide,
The source of terror, to rise in defiance, to say no,
To imperial conquest, to evil raining down upon them,
To stand in the breach for all of our sake…
 
The dead cry out, “untie our hands”, let us be free,
Let our people rise from the nightmare of terror,
Let us bring freedom to the center of Europe,
Help us to defend ourselves, to feed the nations,
To bring our children home from captivity,
Hasten our victory, our triumph over evil,
That a just peace may rise, for humanity…

We are mortal,
We are tested,
We are tempted,
In this walk, in this life,
As others have, the same
Sin, the same evil,
The temptations of the flesh,
Of being mortal, of walking
Here on this earth, this coil,
This desert, to our oasis,
Standing on the promises,
The protections of God…
 
We are mortal,
We are human,
We are tempted,
By the flesh, sin,
By indwelling evil,
Through our journey,
We are made of clay,
We are tested to believe,
To follow the path, the way,
Written for us, to strive, longing,
For meaning, for purpose, for connection
With love, with hope, with the risen Christ…

The lies of my inner voice – v3

A feedback loop, a constant inner monologue,
my history, my trauma, the heavy stones
I carry, the weight, the chains
doubts overwhelming, the lies
of my inner voice, my past, repeating,
weights, anchors, delaying, denying
my dreams, aspirations, joy right now,
today, not tomorrow, scarcity, doubts
my life story, my beliefs, standing in my way…
 
But now, I am taking control, power,
I am listening to another message, a hope,
feeling like I am at a turning point, tipping,
changing my life’s path from my history,
my past, my old way of thinking, breaking free
of my legacy, my broken childhood, loss,
relationships unbalanced, sending the wrong message,
that I wasn’t good enough, that I failed in the tasks,
that I would not succeed, that I would not measure up…
 
So much more to unpack, to name, to discard, to banish,
but finding my voice, my power, my agency rising,
as I put these words down onto paper, as I let go
of my past, my history, my demons, my belief systems,
only letting me survive, not letting me live, to risk,
to pursue opportunities, life’s choices, free
to follow my hopes, my dreams, into a future,
more to do going forward, but leaving time for rest,
to dream of abundance, what will come next…

stand firm, be careful that you do not fall – v3

Listen to this warning from holy scripture,
Stand firm, be careful that you do not fall,
That you do not stumble in your walk,
Reject the flesh, temptation, the lies
Placed before us, stand firm, be careful,
In every moment, in every step, each breath,
In every choice we make while we walk this earth…
 
Heed the warning, the consequence of evil,
Stand firm, in the battle, in the war with the enemy,
For He seeks to destroy, to separate you from God, from Christ,
To drag you down, into the pit, to turn you from heaven,
To the flesh, in the testing, in the refining fire,
In the burning away of all our past, our sin, the war,
Raging, alive, as we walk on our path, on this earth…
 
Cleave to the message, to the protection, of God,
Stand firm, be careful that you do not fall, you do not trip,
That you do not listen to the sirens, to the whispers,
That you do not act like the others seduced by sin, by power,
By the desires of the flesh, separating you, pulling you down
Away from the love of Christ, of God, the path of your life,
Your calling, your purpose, while you walk this earth…

The Lord calls us – v3

The Lord calls us, to us,
to free captives, the oppressed,
to shine light into the darkness,
to take up His cause, our calling,
to live into our purpose, our mission,
to be His servants, disciples, witnesses,
light-bearers, while we walk this earth…
 
Our joy overflows, in abundance,
as we walk upon the earth,
to be the hands and feet,
of Jesus, of the Christ,
to shine light In the darkness,
to go where the Spirit leads us
to walk and not grow weak…

my Creator, my Potter, with Your touch,
Make me a living vessel for Your glory…

Resolve personified – v3

Resolve personified,
in the faces of these people,
fearless, not letting their enemy win,
not ceding ground to the terror, to evil,
holding fast in the storms, the chaos,
so that genocide would not take hold…
 
Too long have they suffered,
too many lost in the maelstrom,
the storm of chaos, of evil, power,
but resolve, resolute in their struggle,
in choosing to take up arms,
to defend their nation…
 
Resolve personified,
a choice each morning,
in each moment, each decision,
for this nation, for this people,
to protect, to defend their homeland,
to say no to evil, to the invaders…
 
Meeting the enemy in battle,
slowly pushing back evil,
too long delay in assistance,
yet a tide is slowly turning,
the skies more protected, defenses,
for victory, a just peace must rise…
 
Resolve personified,
In the posture of every person,
every son and every daughter,
all of those of this courageous people,
who stand against the enemy,
who say no to their evil intent…

Take my broken clay, Lord,
Gather my pieces, my brokenness,
Make me new, pliable,
Reshape me on Your wheel,
my Creator, my Potter
Make me a living vessel…
 
Mold me for Your purpose,
to Your perfect will,
Make me whole, useful,
to do Your sacred work,
Give me a heart to follow,
where Your Spirit leads…

Refine me, oh God,
burn away my imperfections.
Lead me in the paths of righteousness,
save me from my sin, from the pit…
 
Refine me, oh God,
as a smith refines silver.
Burn away all that is not You,
in my body, in my spirit …
 
Refine me, oh God,
in the fire, through persevering.
Show me how to live my life,
for Your purpose, for Your Glory…
