The lies of my inner voice – v3

A feedback loop, a constant inner monologue,
my history, my trauma, the heavy stones
I carry, the weight, the chains
doubts overwhelming, the lies
of my inner voice, my past, repeating,
weights, anchors, delaying, denying
my dreams, aspirations, joy right now,
today, not tomorrow, scarcity, doubts
my life story, my beliefs, standing in my way…
 
But now, I am taking control, power,
I am listening to another message, a hope,
feeling like I am at a turning point, tipping,
changing my life’s path from my history,
my past, my old way of thinking, breaking free
of my legacy, my broken childhood, loss,
relationships unbalanced, sending the wrong message,
that I wasn’t good enough, that I failed in the tasks,
that I would not succeed, that I would not measure up…
 
So much more to unpack, to name, to discard, to banish,
but finding my voice, my power, my agency rising,
as I put these words down onto paper, as I let go
of my past, my history, my demons, my belief systems,
only letting me survive, not letting me live, to risk,
to pursue opportunities, life’s choices, free
to follow my hopes, my dreams, into a future,
more to do going forward, but leaving time for rest,
to dream of abundance, what will come next…
