Final Exams – v3

Let’s see, what were those courses,

in our seminary this semester;

Oh yeah, they were -

Betrayal, abandonment, death,

and Christ’s resurrection.

At the end of three years,

following the Master,

this was the sprint to the finals,

our moments of confusion, of not feeling worthy

of running away, of waiting at the cross,

fearing after Friday, of hunkering down

only to feel the joy of Sunday,

of that first Fourth Day.

Out beyond the grave

with the Spirit coming

to give us power

new-born Christians

about to embark on the Way.

The Voice of Creation – v3

The eye and the ear, all the senses

hear the voice of creation

the glory of God revealed,

speaking where mouths do not exist

the word of God written in everything,

every thing on the earth, in the seas,

in the heavens above

Proclaiming God’s awesome power,

Speaking of the Creator,

creating the ordered universe

the intricate precision

the boundless beauty;

Proclaiming the glory of God

revealed in his handiwork

In every part of creation,

one message to those who would hear

the love of the Creator, the means of grace

swirling all around us,

as if we were standing inside

a cotton candy maker

the world, the whole of creation

singing a song of praise for

the God who made us all

Conjured from nothingness

bound together, precision,

ordered and wondrous

beyond our imaginations

A message of love shared each day,

each moment of life

spoken without mouths

voices in unison singing

for those who would hear
