Bearing a new identity

a new name in Christ,

in our risen Savior...

Slowly becoming a new man,

taking the name of a disciple,

hearing His Master’s call...

A radical transformation

submitting his old self

conforming his steps

the same wry smile but different,

God’s spark in his heart...

God changed his name

like Abram becoming Abraham,

or more, like Jacob becoming Israel,

for he wrestled with God...

An enemy now a friend,

a child of the living God...
