God can use us – v2

God can use us
in powerful ways
we only need to be open
to be willing to serve
to submit to God’s will

God can use us
if only we will follow
our cracked vessels ready
emptied of our choices
given over to God’s will

God can use us
if we are emptied, ready
that they may be filled
to be a blessing, poured
to lift up our neighbor

God can use us
to be God’s presence
to walk beside them
in times of struggle
giving to them
some measure of comfort

Each Square Hand-Stitched – v3

God’s plan, evolving in me
each strand joined
each square hand-stitched
making a tapestry,
a salad, a quilt, a melting,
a blending, a coming together
in the hands of our Creator
our Savior, the Potter
on the wings of the Spirit
God’s breath living within me
the light burning brightly
There is Hope in the turning
the grafting of my twig
joined in the vine
leading me to sing
to want to live, to serve
to join with the others
the fabric God is stitching
now, here on earth

Treasure in flawed clay – v2

We are broken, chipped
yet God chooses us
as Christ chose the fishermen

God’s message is with us
written on our hearts
wanting to share
this treasure within us
in our flawed clay

Our bodies are all too human
yet in spite of our weakness
God’s message shines through

God is Mad – v3

Some think of God as angry
sitting in divine judgment
sending down calamity
punishing us in this life

This belief is a lie, a fiction
denying the Gospel, the truth;
if Christ came to take our sin
why would God seek to hurt us

Christ came, He lived, He died
going to our cross;
He rose as He foretold
rising on the third day

If God was mad, angry
meting out judgment,
why would he have sent his Son
to die for us on that cross
