You lead me through – v3

You lead me through my wandering
through my deserts
a wilderness of my making;
You lead me through
to the other side, to safety
when I am dry in the valley,
dry bones only
struggling on the journey
in the wilderness, lost;
You offer me hope
I need Your hand, Your path,
You lead me through
on the journey, the way;
I am safe on the other side
following Jesus Christ.

why do you allow the pain – v4

Why don’t You cut off the disease
Why do You allow the pain,
in ourselves, in our loved ones,
the hurt to continue;
Do You hear me, Lord,
when they attack
when the leaders do not help us,
when our protectors are silent
seemingly indifferent, uncaring;
Those who are blind to the hurt
what they have gotten away with,
still earning a paycheck
with no other consequence?
Why don’t You exact judgment;
Don’t You hear us, oh God?

gasping for air – v3

out of breath, tired
worn out from struggle
trying to be faithful
but hearing the earth’s song
the memory of my past
a legacy behind me
stalking my days
in pain, struggling
gasping for air
for the breath I need.

Drowning in my own thoughts – v3

I am frozen, paralyzed
not knowing where to turn
staring at the demons
awake in my dreams, shouting;
I am drowning in my own thoughts.
Lord, do you see me?
I am drowning, I am frozen;
I am standing on sinking sand.

Lord, reach down,
I beseech Thee;
Lord, lift me, hold me
place me on dry land.
I am parched, I am broken,
I am drowning in my own thoughts.
Heal me, mend me,
put me to Your work.

scarred wrists – v2

Proof of my pain
utter despair
bruised heart
scarred wrists;
Cuts so deep
nowhere to turn, to run;
Do you hear me, Lord,
my cries in the night;
I am lost without You
I need Your love

praying through the trials – v3

praying through the trials
through our uncertainty;
trusting God will answer
for our good, a future, a plan,
in God’s time alone

we must give tomorrow to God
trusting in His provision;
submitting our lives to Him
certain God will answer
in God’s time alone.

I am angry – v2

I am angry
I am frightened
I am lost in my thoughts
I know I am unable
to chart my own course;
I long for comfort
for peace in my spirit;
but I am angry
in the things I can’t change.

My debt stalks me
while I try to be faithful
words coming, a torrent,
the well won’t run dry;
Driven to serve, to share the gift,
yet longing to be Mary.
Food for my soul
at the Master’s feet.

by the sacrifice of Christ.

I am caught in the snares
