Perpetuating a Canard
Once begun
continuing the lie
another layer added
perpetuating the canard
usurping a story, words
to create ambiguity
Purposely adding
again claiming authorship
the germ of the idea
the sharing of another’s
alluding to ownership
Blurring the bright lines
for those who do not know
that they would perceive
the naked guilt of the theft

The Corrosive Nature of Lies
Too much to bear
stealing joy
the corrosive nature of lies
stealing other’s words
taking without attribution
sharing aloud
claimed as if their own
