We dip our lives, our empty cups
into this pool of living water,
to be healed, to be refreshed,
to taste God-breathed love
written in holy scripture...
 
These words are the foundation,
the stories we cleave to,
the rock our faith stands on...
God leaves us instructions
on how to live in this world...
 
Scripture is a mirror
to the Father, our Savior
in these Spirit-breathed words,
Love was written lovingly
for our journey on this earth...

breathing into the hearts of men,
quickened to life...
the authority of God’s Word
from the mouth of God...
 
we are filled with the Spirit,
created in God’s image...
we are given God’s love
recorded in His Word
A sacred gift of heaven
breathed into our hearts...
 
God’s message is imparted,
breathed to each writer –
they are co-authors with God –
each is God’s amanuensis...
His vessel, His partners,
transcribing God’s Word...

Jesus claimed His name,
His power, His authority,
Jesus proclaimed He was the Christ,
the Messiah sent from heaven.
 
Jesus claimed His name,
the only Son of the Father,
the One foretold in scripture,
the One who was to descend.
 
Jesus claimed His name,
Turning the tables, stating,
His power, His authority,
was in His holy name.
 
Jesus claimed His name,
the first-born of creation,
the Messiah, the Christ,
before Abraham was, I Am...

Christ’s words in His sermon,
His first pastoral teaching,
on the mount, preaching,
with authority, with power…
 
Christ gave us no choice,
in the words of His message,
His power, His authority,
was in His identity alone…
 
Christ spoke with power,
authority from heaven,
for He is the Christ, the Messiah,
the one living Son of God…
 
Christ gave us no choice,
to see Him as a moral teacher,
a preacher, a messenger,
speaking God’s truth…
 
No, Christ spoke differently,
than all others before Him,
He claimed His authority,
was rooted in scripture,
in His holy name…

Our voices have power, meaning, importance,
we are more than our position, our station,
each of us hold great power, we can create,
We send ripples of energy through the universe,
We can manifest a brighter future, a more just world…
 
We have immense power, our voices matter,
no matter what others may say to defeat us,
We can lift up one another, sharing,
our lives, our calling, our purpose,
offering love to one another, along the way…
 
We can manifest a brighter future, a more just world,
we send ripples of energy through the universe,
We are more than our position, our station,
our voices have power, meaning, importance,
We can rise above our past, into a brighter future…

ripples of energy through the universe

Our voices have power, importance, meaning,
we are more than our position, our station,
sending ripples of energy through the universe,
we can manifest a brighter future…
 
We have power, our voices matter,
no matter what others may say,
lifting up one another, sharing,
offering love along the way…
 
We can manifest a brighter future,
sending ripples of energy through the universe,

We have power, our voices are important,
We must speak our truth, our hope, life,
Even in darkness, when we cannot see light,
When we feel small, inconsequential,
When we feel broken, damaged, insignificant,
We can send ripples through the universe,
Energy, a Butterfly Effect through time…
 
We have power, our voices are important,
No matter our position, our station,
We must not consider ourselves unworthy,
We can rise up like the rest, together,
A mighty army of truth, of love, of light,
Setting the world back together, confident,
Energy, a Butterfly Effect through time…

the interior tin wall of

Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church

are shafts of wheat;

the crown molding top of the walls

are the heads of the wheat.

&

On the walls of the sanctuary, you will see names of saints who have gone before us in the stained glass but you will also see vertical stalks all around us. The tinsmiths put these there to remind us we are to the wheat ripe for harvest, ready to be gathered in by God. Look toward the ceilings, the heads of the wheat are ready. There are also sections of the wall and ceiling where we see the shape of vines, as we are connected in the vine. There are places on the ceiling that have the number 7 for perfection, the number 12 for the tribe of Israel and the number 40 for the forty days, the forty years, etc. There is the shape of shepherd staffs on either side of the Good Shepherd stained glass. There is an arch like the shape of the dome leading us into the chancel.

The tinsmiths put these there to remind us we are to the wheat ripe for harvest, ready to be gathered in by God. Look toward the ceilings, the heads of the wheat are ready. There are also sections of the wall and ceiling where we see the shape of vines, as we are connected in the vine. There are places on the ceiling that have the number 7 for perfection, the number 12 for the tribe of Israel and the number 40 for the forty days, the forty years, etc. There is the shape of shepherd staffs on either side of the Good Shepherd stained glass. There is an arch like the shape of the dome leading us into the chancel.
