Christ gave us no choice

Christ’s words in the sermon,
His first pastoral teaching,
on the mount, preaching,
with authority, with power…
 
Christ gave us no choice,
in the words of His message,
His power, His authority,
was in His identity alone…
 
Christ spoke with power,
authority from heaven,
for He is the Christ, Messiah,
the living Son of God…
 
Christ gave us no choice,
to see Him as a moral teacher,
a preacher, a messenger,
speaking God’s truth…
 
No, Christ spoke differently,
than all others before Him,
He claimed His authority,
was rooted in scripture,
and in His holy name…
