Trapped in a state of war

Some would say this goes back to Saul,
who disobeyed God’s order to him,
some would say a time more recent,
when we carved up Palestine,
others would go farther back,
the failing of faith of Abram,
the seeds of conflict eternal,
Trapped in a state of war…
 
Oh Ishmael, oh Isaac,
oh Abram, oh Abraham,
how have with come to this,
a single bloodline parted, at war,
your children becoming terrorists,
martyrs to your causes, this jihad,
a no-state solution, in truth,
Trapped in a state of war…
