Pulling back from the pinnacle

Pulling back from the pinnacle,
from the thing that she loves,
taking time for herself
to be healed, restored…
 
Choosing herself, herself,
not the maddening crowd,
those who idolize, adore her,
those who would tear her down…
 
Finding restoration, wholeness,
as she had to, in the end, in truth,
taking up the mantle, her title,
once again reclaiming her crown…
 
In the end, she mattered, her whole self,
gathering her fans, her loved ones to her,
standing on the world stage once again,
flooded with joy, God’s infinite grace.
