Let Ukraine Strike Back – v3

A refrain repeating, amplified,
growing ever more urgent, daily,
anguished cries of this people rising,
praying someone would hear their pleas…
 
Let Ukraine Strike Back…
 
Too long has terror, genocide,
this evil, this carnage, gone
unchecked, carved out, allowed,
by red-lines, endless delays…
 
Oh, Let Ukraine Strike Back…
 
Restrictions, fear, hesitation,
costing so many lives, terror,
unabated, hopes dashed, crying,
blood running in the streets…
 
A prayer, Let Ukraine Strike Back…
 
Let them strike the archers,
not merely catching the arrows,
may the skies be freed, empty,
of Russia’s missiles, this terror…
 
Oh, please, Let Ukraine Strike Back…
