Do not run aimlessly – v4

There is a lesson for all of us
Words of caution, of advice,
in the example of Paul’s life
not to run aimlessly
but with purpose, intent
running the race before us
the path Christ set on this earth

Following our Master
in the way set for us
focused on the goal
the crown of eternal life;
striving through the trials
ever following His light
cleaving to our Savior
all the days of our life

Beneficial – v8

God’s offer of grace
releasing us from the Law
all permissible, allowed
by our choice, our will;
But not all is beneficial
for the raising up of the Body
for the People of Christ,
The Flock of the Shepherd
to prepare for Paradise

things that fade away – v3

Each of us runs the race
the race of our lives,
the journey set before us
or one we create in time

God wants us to run
the race He intended,
to focus on the things that last
not things that fade away

We must focus on the eternal
not the stuff of this earth,
for this Christ came from heaven
to give us new life

A participation in His Sacrifice – v9

We all are one Body
one Body in Christ;
Sharing His table,
sharing His journey to the cross.

A participation in His sacrifice
is His body, the cup;
Giving His life for us
that we would be bound up.

Gathered in for Glory
to see Paradise;
Standing at the foot of His cross,
Seeing the Price He paid for us.

but we have hope – v3

Life isn’t a bowl of cherries,
(no one said it would be)
there are struggles, trials;
but we have hope,
because of the healing of Jesus.

Christ’s hand is still upon us
holding us so lovingly
like the Potter to the clay;
His sacrifice healing,
showing us the way.

welcoming the newness of spring – v2

open windows after a winter
welcoming the newness of spring
cleaning of the winter doldrums
walking into that spring

the same for our souls
our spirits within us
needing to be made clean,
made whole, the dying within

welcoming the newness of spring
the morning of Easter
a breath of fresh air
