things that fade away

each of us runs the race
the race of our lives
the journey set before us
or one we create in time
God wants us to run
the race he intended
to focus on the things that last
not things that fade away
to focus on the eternal
not the stuff of this earth
for this Christ came from heaven
to give us eternal life
