Though he gave it
before he went to the cross
there in the upper room
knowing they would feel lost
Would that we had Christ’s peace
what he offered to us
knowing deep within our hearts
that we were not alone
God here with us
because we are in the Christ
the Son in the Father
abiding here with us
How different life would be
if we truly believed
would that we had the peace of Christ
that we would rise from our knees
No fear, no worry
no timidity in this life
boldly going forth
to spread God’s light
Would that we had Christ’s peace
that which he offered in his witness
going humbly to the cross
feeling God’s holy blessing
