as waves crashing,

swooping, falling

upon the shore, the bank,

rising and falling

seconds apart

a staggered choir

a capricious harmony

stronger together

woven into one voice

one in the fabric of love.

what God wants

that is the hard thing

seeking the kingdom

determining what God wants

amid the noise, the chaos

our own competing demands

our interests, our desires

to seek the kingdom

and the will of God.

that is almost easier

when I pause, think it over,

the next part of the scripture

to completely trust in God

that all of our needs

ever dot, ever tittle,

all our other needs

will be provided by God.

I understand this scripture

the challenge is life

with eyes of the world
