not ending in despair, in death,
for any of God’s people,
a resurrection hope,
guiding the faithful.
 
serving in the desert,
in the courts of Babylon,
the clash of empires, moments,
all part of God’s plan
 
a resurrection hope
for all of God’s people,
all held in the Creator’s hand,
the Father of the nations.

the battle that raged – v3

Seeing a vision,

a battle to come,

of a great war, a battle

at the end of the age;

Trembling, fasting

seeking God in prayer.

The battle that raged,

the battle in heaven,

between the forces of God

and the forces of hell

before the angel arrived.

The battle that raged,

beyond our vision,

while he fasted,

while he prayed to God;

A battle raged in the spiritual realm

The forces fighting

to keep God from him

to keep God’s messenger

from reaching the righteous;

The fervent prayers raised

by his faithful heart.

for hundreds of years

into the world’s future

the prophecies that were spoken

easy to see lived out

in the rise and fall of nations

in the history of man

the others words of prophecy

in the ancient text

for the end times

a time far into the future

in a time known only to God.

hope in life after death – v3

to press on in oppression

to labor in the fields, faithful

in the shadow lands, far from home

from any hope of salvation

of reconciliation with their Promised Land

a hope in life after death

to be faithful, to soldier on,

the wise discerning, sensing

the living presence of God

of the angel armies, of Michael,

of the prince of the people

a promise in heaven

of going into battle for them

a hope in life after death

a resurrection hope for them

for all of us who believe
