As my world fell into darkness

As my world fell into darkness,

I ventured outside, quickly,

to the eastern corner of the driveway

closest to you. Sweetheart...

I spoke into the ether,

across time and space repeating.

"I love you, my Beloved",

aloud three times...

Each time I spoke these words,

an echo in my spirit,

hearing your answer to me,

"I love you more",,,

I spoke into the ether,

and you gifted me your answer,

as my world fell into darkness

I was held by your love...

A sky of rose quartz

A sky of rose quartz,
not pink, more subtle,
hues changing quickly,
darkness coming soon…

A rose-quartz sky,
its color fleeting,
dying light holding on,
darkness coming soon…

A sky of rose quartz,
light, shimmering color,
alive for a few moments,
darkness coming soon…

A sky of rose quartz,
Not pink, more subtle,
The hue changing quickly,
Darkness coming soon…

A rose-quartz sky,
Its color fleeting,
Dying light holding on,
Darkness coming soon…

another pelican morning – v3

an unseen hand,
an invisible thread,
the dance of the pelicans
above the wave tops…

seeing a line of them approaching
just above the wave tops
picking up my cell phone
setting the stage, waiting
for them to come into view.,,

diving in unison,
as if tethered together,
rising and falling on the winds
above the wave tops…

zooming in quickly, panning,
moving, catching their motion
another pelican morning. Bursting,
just above the wave tops
here beyond our beach…

an invisible line, transparent,
a cord, an unseen thread,
kissing the waters, fishing,
just above the wave tops…

Returning to the sea, to the water – v3

Too long away from my spirit,
returning to the sea, the water,
feeling the sunlight upon my body,
the roar of the waves, crashing,
as the high tide fell away…

They came out to greet me,
as they have before, again,
a repeating pattern, welcoming me,
lines of pelicans above the houses,
above the dunes, ribbons across the sky...

Some strands were four of them,
a dashed line over the buildings,
other threads saw thirty coursing,
cutting through the moment,
greeting me once again…

Another pelican morning,
on our beach touching memory,
the dance of the pelicans above me,
refreshing me in this moment,
washing me in infinite grace…

Foam in the surf

All along the edge of the waves

the receding high tide,

the pull of the full moon,

the churning of the sea,

foam in the surf...

Only for a few moment,

quickly dying, evaporating,

melting in the sunlight,

the warming of the sand,

wind above the water, the land...

Returning to the sea, to the water – v2

Returning to the sea, the water,
feeling the sunlight upon my back,
the roar of the waves, crashing,
as the high tide fell away…

They came out to greet me,
a repeating pattern, welcoming me,
lines of pelicans above the houses,
ribbons across the sky...

Some strands were four of them,
others thirty pelicans coursing,
cutting through the moment,
greeting me once again…

Another pelican morning,
the dance of the pelicans above me,
refreshing me in this moment,
washing me in infinite grace…

Returning to the sea, to the water

From day to sunset – v3

The sun’s daily progression,
there at the horizon, the sky,
from day to night to day again,
the sphere of the Earth,
The arc, our mortal coil…

From day to sunset coming,
from sunset to twilight melting
from twilight to dusk falling
and from dusk to night, darkness,
The curtain is drawn, to sleep…

The arc, dome of the sky,
a canopy of stars, the universe,
the measure of the horizon,
a changing of the guard,
Getting ready to begin…

Now night gives way, the stage,
from night to dawn breaking,
from dawn to Twilight melting,
from Twilight to sunrise, waking,
Finally, from sunrise to the new day…

From day to sunset – v2

There at the horizon,
The sun’s daily progression,
from day to night to day again,
the circle of the Earth,
the arc, our mortal coil…

From day to sunset coming,
From sunset to twilight melting
From twilight to dusk falling
And From dusk to night, darkness,
The curtain is drawn, sleep…

The dome of the sky,
