In shimmering radiance

speaking from within the cloud

atop the holy mountain

God spoke to us,

“This is my Son, marked by my love.

Listen to Him”, always,

every word he spoke

Each word a holy blessing

the musings of love

bought by His sacrifice

paid by His blood

Love was made complete in His blood

This covenant we offer

His sacrificed in love

God’s love and mercy – v3

God is the judge, righteous,

combining charity and justice;

God’s love and mercy

informs each step

in the forming of creation,

in correcting our walk.

God is the good judge

over all of the people

the One who created

the One who names our future

not merely meting out judgment

but transforming hearts.

Only God is judge – v2

We must be like Jesus

loving our neighbor

judging no one in our walk.

Only God is judge

in love, in righteousness;

we call on Your mercy, oh Lord

come to us now.

Shine into the recesses

the dark places of our heart

convict us with the picture

of where we have fallen short;

Lift us from the depths

where we were drowning

set us on dry land;

Guide us on the journey.

God’s temple

His body

shining forth to guide us

Together on the Mountain

All of the way God loves us
Moses, Elijah, and Jesus
the Law, the Prophets
the Son come to earth

All of them together
in the light of his word
Speaking to them, to us
together on that mountain

God speaking Love
to listen to Christ Jesus
the fulfillment of his promise
proof of his great love

Dazzling Light – v2

Translucent, alive
a fire radiating from him
whiter than any bleached cloth
ever on the earth

His clothes bright
his body afire
radiating from every bit of him
the embodiment of love

God speaking to us
out of the cloud
this is my Son, Beloved;
Listen to Him.

Light of the knowledge of Christ

The light that burns most brightly
light greater than all others
light of the knowledge of Christ
the light that guides our way

God spoke light into the darkness
Christ was that light
