a
word, a phrase,
walking on the beach,
early morning, effortless,
no time to sleep,
walking barefoot,
above the waves,
below the dunes,
sand stinging, stars,
in the morning breeze…
with
a cup of coffee,
black, piping hot,
in a ceramic mug,
deep fall colors,
painted on its sides,
walking barefoot,
above the waves,
sand packed, giving,
to my purposeful strides
