The ancient scroll was unrolled
as he started to speak
the words springing off
the paper;
The words had come to
life with His Passion,
the story of this week
He was despised and
rejected,
Christ was tortured and
abandoned;
He was disfigured by their
punishment
the stark cruelty of Man
He was despised and
rejected
yet He was chosen by God;
Christ became the sin
offering
to redeem our mortal souls
He was beaten and
humiliated,
Christ was nailed to the
cross;
The Paschal Lamb was humble
submitting to the will of
God
