despised and rejected

the ancient scroll unrolled

words springing off the paper

come to life with him

the story of this week

despised and rejected

tortured and abandoned

disfigured by the punishment

the cruelty of man

despised and rejected

yet chosen by God

become the sin offering

to redeem our souls

beaten and humiliated

nailed to the cross

the Paschal Lamb humble

to the will of God
