The touch of the Dove – v4

In the moment the Spirit came down
was Christ changed in that moment
the touch of the dove upon Him
the Spirit lifting Him up

Casting Him into the desert
His wilderness time of temptation
a parallel for us in this season
to ponder our call, our ministry

God’s purpose for this life
Like Christ we should lean on scripture
the Holy Word of God
to fight off Satan, temptation

To ward off evil, sin
to exit this time of reflection
this forty-day journey
renewed for our mission again

Like Jesus called to witness
to proclaim the love of God
to preach to the captives
throughout the world

Repent and believe
the Kingdom has come near
open your eyes and see
the work has begun
