despair on that road
sadness, confusion
they had seen Christ die
but now the empty tomb
impatient, despondent
setting out for home
despair on the roadway
the empty tomb
Christ came beside them
walking on the road
Christ revealed himself
in the breaking of the bread
no longer sorrowful
racing back to tell them
to share the Good News
Christ was risen from the dead
