filling with fragrance

inside the tomb
sealed from the outside
the perfume, the spices
filling the space
prepared, made ready,
for Easter morn
sealed from the outside
the cross now empty
Christ descended
to the place of the dead

the spices, perfume
put on Christ’s body
the aroma spreading
filling with fragrance
the tomb, the sanctuary
the body, the church,
filling, hopeful, surely,
with the fragrance of life;
Christ is not here,
He is raised from the dead
