so that we may walk in the footsteps of Jesus – v4

slowing out furtive steps
our stumbling in the world
putting ourselves, our minds
back in that place and time

hearing, as the first,
when Jesus said come, follow,
leaving our nets, our lives
there at the shoreline

seeing him cure the sick
when he drove out the demons
watching the miracles
even as he fed the five thousand

seeking to walk with them
to walk in the footsteps of Jesus
his life, his ministry for us
for we are Christ’s chosen people
