slowing out tentative
steps
our stumbling in the
world
putting ourselves, our
minds
back in that place and
time
by the Sea of Galilee
hearing, as the first
disciple,
James, Peter, and John
when Jesus said come, to follow,
leaving our nets, our
lives
there on the shoreline
seeking to walk with them
to walk in the footsteps
of Jesus
his life, his ministry a
call to us
like them, those before
us,
for we are all Christ’s
chosen people
