In our language, our witness

speaking of how God has saved us

how Christ died for Me

how He lifted Me from My sin

all of this offal, not about our Savior,

the pungent air of self

of this age, this nation,

if our witness is not balanced

to the glory of our God

about God’s hand on creation

on the wonder of all of this

held in God’s loving arms
