trumpets of heaven
horns of the angels
written across
the near-night sky
the smear of the clouds
revealing creation
arc of the dome
holding the heavens
colors, the forms
of the angel choir
written, unspoken
in verses and rhyme

Like trumpets of the Levites
shouting, sounding their
call
calling at the tent of the
meeting
a cloud of witnesses
tulips before the church
swaying in the warming
breeze
a chorus, an orchestra
singing their praises up to
God

Like trumpets of the Levites

the tulips before the church
