The prayer of each pastor
each priest, each one of us
that we would be but a vessel
the hands and feet of God
That we would merely be gloves
that God would use us
our living, chipped clay
empowered for holy work
A prayer each Sunday, ever, always
that God would speak through my lips
sharing His message of love
that more would hear Him
His still small voice
His love shouting
through Your words spoken
from the lips of my mouth

More Wonderful
More wonderful
than we can comprehend
greatly to be praised
our God coming to set us free
giving his life for us
Able to make the cosmos
and the beating of the heart
drawing a beautiful sunset
the coolness of September
and the smile of our daughters
Loving us while we yet sinned
forgiving us with power
planting the spirit’s seed
deep in our hearts
that we would grow in him

Awesome God
Creator of the universe
and the whisper of the wind
there with us in silence
and in the crashing of the seas
So great you are
and greatly to be praised
my God and king
for this we gratefully sing
Thankful in the morning
and at the end of day
living for you
in every single way
Your grace abiding
endless love poured down
the lamb on the throne
living in your presence
all of our days

Finding Our Instrument
Knowing we belong
not knowing our part yet
into the orchestra
feeling your calling
the Spirit deep within
Humble, waiting
looking at the choices
the stirring of the gifts within
to join their praises
our seat already assigned
though we are blind as yet
Finding our instrument
or maybe trying several
our gifts multi-layered
in the brass, the woodwinds
maybe in the percussion
Yet our place in the symphony
the one song of the believers
all of creation singing
in praises to our king
finding our place,
our instrument calling to us
Part of the one church
one body in Christ
all with a role
each one playing our instrument
singing praises to our king

Taking Up Our Parts
The sound rising
up to heaven
the crescendo growing
as the seeds take flower
rising toward heaven
praises to the lamb
the one seated on the throne
Each of the pilgrims
believers on the journey
out of the boats, our comfort
walking on the living waters
buoyed by the Spirits
giving us parts to play
each in the chorus, singing to God on high
Taking up our parts
with rising confidence we sing
raising our voices, our hands
in the work of his love
spreading grace like seeds
the sound of the praises rising
across the face of the earth

Your Praises Rise
Like a growing chorus
the orchestra coming in tune
the many voicing rising
joining in one song
As each believer
gains confidence in the notes
joining their voices
to the one victorious song
The good news of our shepherd
the savior that redeemed our lives
the love of God come to earth
to change the world upside down
Preaching and healing
bringing the kingdom near
from this comes our singing
your praises rising to heaven
joining their celestial song

A chorus rising
A chorus, all the saints
creation, singing,
a chorus rising
singing your praises oh God
for you, your glory
that all the world would know
The infinite love,
the grace of our savior
our whole world cradled
in the loving hands of God
who formed all from his word
his mind creating all
Molding us for his purpose
shaping us before we were born
sending us forth as messengers
witnesses of his love
to tell the whole world
the good news of the son
Christ came to save us
the work already done
Rise in song, you believers
all those under the sun
walking on this good earth
until our days are done
Rising with our savior
praises to our king
going to the ends of the earth
that all would know and believe
