Claiming the Words of the Prophet

Reading the scrolls of the Prophet,
all eyes fixed upon Him,
claiming the words of the Prophet,
that He had come to earth…
 
Shocking the people in the village,
stating He is the Messiah,
those who had known Him,
the place where He was born…
 
Claiming the Words of the Prophet,
escaping their pursuit,
fleeing from His hometown,
because of their unbelief...

Raise me from the pit – v2

Lord, You came to save us,
to free the captives, to throw
off our chains of bondage,
I pray to You now, this minute,
to forgive me, to save me,
Raise me from the pit,
this world of darkness,
Set me on the path, the way,
You have written for my life…
 
I see these words of the prophet,
words of Your commission,
the power of God’s Spirit,
as You walked this earth,
I long to know You more fully,
to love You more deeply,
to sense You with me always,
today, right now, this minute,
to follow more fully, the path,
Your calling for my life…
 
Lord, raise me from the pit,
from my prison, my past, this earth,
Open my heart for all of You, my hope,
Your love come down, the victory,
You have already won, joy,
abounding, overflowing, abundance,
Lift the chains I have carried,
for most of my life, the way,
that I have traveled, change me,
Set me on the path, the way,
You have written for my life…

Christ was anointed – v2

Christ was anointed,
at the right moment,
the time assigned by God,
to fulfill ancient prophecy…
 
Christ was anointed,
sent here on a mission,
alive within His spirit,
the Spirit of the living God…
 
Christ was anointed,
He was commissioned,
sent here on a mission,
to set each of us free…
 
Christ was anointed,
alive as a mortal, God,
come to raise us,
from the pit, the grave…
 
Christ was anointed,
He was commissioned,
to release us from our prison,
the darkness of this world…

We will have joy, hope,
Love profound, overflowing,
We will see Life in abundance,
now, and in the life to come…
 
We are freed from our bondage,
our chains have been taken off,
Life everlasting, immortal,
we will walk streets of gold…

God’s Spirit is upon us – v2

God’s Spirit is upon us,
carrying the one same message,
God sent love to free, to bind us,
to give us eternal life…
 
We are gifted, commissioned,
we are sent to do the work,
we are to free the captives, hostage,
to set tortured souls alight…
 
God’s Spirit us upon us,
we are imbued with God’s love,
we are called for a purpose, a hope,
to open peoples’ broken hearts…

Raise me from the pit
