an image of the cross – v3

a light shining upon me
shining through me
falling upon the earth
the marks left by me
my footprints, my path
my legacy behind me
may the shadow that I cast
may the face that I see
when I look in the mirror
be an image of the cross
of the man who hung there
of the risen Christ
may I reflect Him
my Savior, my life
my legacy worthy
the One who redeemed me
who restored me to Him
who reconciled me to God
in the days of my life
may I shine His light
may my walk be a guide
for those who are behind me.

Because of Me

Sent by Jesus
out into the world
to be his messenger
his servant
to go where he calls

Through of me
the seeds are scattered
by my words,
by my actions
how I live in life

But if I am unfaithful
fail to follow his commands
judge my neighbor harshly
rejecting love and service
wanting my possessions instead

What have I accomplished
in the name of Christ
what seeds have I planted
on the dusty road

Where will they flourish
survive and grow
if I do not reflect Jesus
everywhere I go

“This is a very powerful message and one that needs repeating. We as Christian deny Christ when we do not live out the Great Commission by creating barriers, stumbling blocks to Christ. We must be sowing joy, not judgment, love not division, hope not condemnation, agape love not the values of the world. Only in this are we fulfilling our call, using our gifts for God's glory.”

The Fabric of Our Savior

Imitators of Jesus
sheep of his flock
followers of the master
doing his work

That we would put on
the fabric of our savior
that we would follow his footsteps
wherever they may lead

Oh to travel
the dusty roads with Jesus
to act as he acted
for those who were in need

That we would act justly
humbly before our God
that we would submit utterly
becoming the lamb

We must reflect Jesus
in all we say and do
if we are to draw others
to the way that is true

Do They See Christ

in the mirror of our neighbors
our image,
our reflection
projected from our faces

Do they see Christ
when they look at Christians
or has to world continued to hold sway
on how we act in life

Do they see Christ
in how we touch a neighbor
another person in need
as we go through life

Do we change their lives
modeling his behaviors
loving them as he commands
walking with them ever

In the Mirror of Our Neighbors

What a lesson we might learn
if we could see ourselves
how we walk in this world
in the mirror of our neighbors
what truths we would see
how clear an image
our lives for others to see
face first, not in reflection
