More than 50 years in the desert – v2

Blind though I believed,
clinging to my flesh, my sin,
the pain of shame I carried,
more than 50 years in the desert
when God offers me rest…
 
Lost as Paul was, blind to faith,
given new sight, new vision,
washed in the waters,
putting my old life to death,
so I can walk with Christ…
 
Help me Lord to put on You,
my Savior, the Christ, Jesus,
Your fabric, You armor,
help me to bury my sin
forever in the grave…
 
Lift me from the waters,
Let me walk with You on water,
I submit my control,
from my sin, my shame,
help me not to take it again…

Will our days be numbered in eternity - v2

Will our days be numbered in eternity,
will we know the passage of time,
time to count our blessings,
blessings too many to number
Numbers that go on and on...
 
Will we meet our loved ones that have gone before,
will we remember our lives on earth,
earth where we toiled, where we lived and died,
died to rise to heaven, to come into the presence,
The presence of our risen Lord, our God...

beyond human cleansing

refined pure, light

living God, risen Christ

Drape us in love

wearing the Christ

the cloak of the Spirit

on the outside, upon us

Living flames upon us

Have we forgotten who owns the vineyard

Are we like the chief priests, the Pharisees,

the leaders of the temple, the guardians

of the faith of God’s people?

Have we forgotten who owns the vineyard,

have we denied the supremacy,

the sovereignty of the Creator, of God?

Are we like them who created edifices,

structures, rituals, committees, practices

that separate us from God, from the truth?

Are we truly a people connected, entwined

knitted within the vine, in harmony

to our Creator, to our God?
